Let’s Build a Better Shawnee—Together
I’m not running to bring politics to Shawnee—I’m running to bring focus, fairness, and follow-through. Fixing our roads isn’t a partisan issue. Parks and public safety don’t care how you vote. City Council is meant to be nonpartisan - and our decisions should reflect what’s best for our community, not a political agenda
. Please vote for candidates who are like you and care about the same hometown issues you do. Lets keep national politics out of local decisions and choose leaders who put Shawnee first. That’s why I’m running: because I want someone who represents me, and others like me. In a world that sometimes feels chaotic, real change starts right here - in our neighborhoods, in our city. These are the issues that matter most to me, shaped by my own experiences and countless conversations with residents about what they care about.
I’d love to hear from you too - please reach out and let me know what matters most to you. Use the Get Involved tab to leave a message - it can even be anonymous. I am here to serve YOU.
My Values
-
Growth That Makes Sense
Lets face it. Change is inevitable. As the city grows and expands, we’ll need to bring in more housing and business. I want to ensure that everything we do is responsible, and rooted in logic and common sense. Housing should be attainable and by necessity varied, but match the character of the area. It should be supported by the infrastructure around it. Businesses that are brought in should again make sense, match the needs of the area, and tie in to what makes Shawnee unique.
-
Keeping Shawnee Unique
I love it here, and its a beautiful place to live! I’ll work to preserve and enhance community events like Old Shawnee Days (which has the state’s largest parade) and events like Moonlight Market and PARK’d. We also have beautiful parks and trails - who doesn’t love more greenspace? I want to promote the city’s goals to have a park within 1/3 of a mile of every home and increasing bike-friendly roadways.
-
Communication
I took a poll of friends that live in Shawnee. Many couldn’t name one of their Ward Councilmembers; some weren’t even sure of the name of the Mayor. I believe communication is extremely important, especially in Ward 3. There is a lot of expansion and development happening - people need to know about things that will impact them, whether that’s a road closure on their commuter route or a new business park going in down the street. We need representation that not only advocates for us but helps us advocate for ourselves.
-
Public Safety
Everyone wants to feel secure in the event of an emergency. I have family members that have proudly served the community as police officers. I’d like to work to support police officers, firemen, and EMTS, ensuring they’re funded properly and have the things they need. Partnerships are what make a community strong.
